Fire Damages Trailers At Orchard View Park

Damage is estimated at $300,000 after two large trailers were destroyed by fire at Orchard View Park on Lakeshore Rd. in Lambton Shores.

Fire Chief Lawrence Swift says Forest, Arkona and Thedford departments responded just before midnight Tuesday.

"Upon arrival, we found two fully involved trailers with some structures built onto the side of them," says Swift. "There were a number of other trailers around the area that had some siding melted on them."

Chief Swift says the cause is likely electrical in nature because the fire started in a trailer that's been unoccupied for some time.

He says there are no hydrants at Orchard View so they had to use tanker trucks.

The fire was difficult to fight given the close proximity of the trailers and their add-ons.
