Humane Society Unleashes Dog Festival

The Sarnia and District Humane Society is unleashing it's new Dog Festival Saturday, June 9.

The event at Fox and Hound Canine Retreat on Michigan Line will feature off-leash play zones, a stunt dog show, food vendors and more.

Fox and Hound owner Katie Chapman says the event replaces the People/Pet Walkathon fundraiser.

"We're hoping to raise $15,000 for the Sarnia Humane Society, that's our goal," says Chapman. "The event is open to everybody to come out an enjoy. We're bringing dock diving, which is a dog sport to Sarnia for the first time, Jack Russel races, agility and competitive disc dog demonstrations."

The dog festival takes place on Saturday from 10am until 4pm.

Admission is $10 for adults, kids and dogs are free.
