Nominations Announced At Aamjiwnaang

The nominations for Aamjiwnaang's council and chief feature 46 names on the 2018 ballot.

Current chief Joanne Rogers is among the eight nominees up for that position. Rogers was elected as Aamjiwnaang's first female chief in 2016.

There's quite a few nominees for councillors. A total of 38 people, including all nine incumbent councillors, were nominated to run for council.

All candidates have the option to withdraw their names until 4pm on June 13.  Election day goes July 20.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
