Police Respond In Force To 'Unfounded' Call

Sarnia police say a lot of resources were deployed to a call about a disturbance at an Exmouth St. home, which turned out to be nothing.

Police were called at around 3:30pm Sunday to a home in the 1400-block of Exmouth, northeast of Lambton Mall.

The caller had indicated there were weapons in the home and the incident was very volatile.

Officers set up a perimeter and the Emergency Response Team was called in, but as the investigation unfolded, it was determined the information given was unfounded, and everyone inside was safe and sound.

The Criminal Investigations Branch continues to look into the call and anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Mike Kahnert at 519-344-8861 ext. 6196 or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
