Thunderstorms brought wind gusts and heavy rain to Sarnia Monday afternoon in advance of a cold front ushering in cooler, drier air.
Environment Canada elevated its severe thunderstorm watch to a warning for Sarnia-Lambton at 4:15pm. However, all watches and warnings were rescinded by 6pm.
Meteorologists were tracking a cluster of storms moving quickly southeastward that were capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
Bluewater Power and Hydro One were reporting weather-related outages.
About 2,000 customers were affected in north Sarnia, in the Twin Lakes, Wiltshire subdivisions.
The utility also says it lost all supply from Hydro One at the Wanstead Station, affecting the majority of its county customers in Oil Springs, Watford, Alvinston and Petrolia.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. The heat warning, in effect since Friday, continued through Monday.
After setting a record high of 34.2 C (93 F) Sunday, the mercury at Chris Hadfield Airport had reached 33.8 C as of 3pm Monday with a humidex of 43 C (109 F).
Monday afternoon's thunderstorm activity is in advance of a cold front that will bring relief from the heat and humidity.
A low of 14 C (57F) is forecast Monday night as winds shift northwesterly and gust to 50 km/h.
A high of 23 C (73 F) is forecast for Tuesday in Sarnia.
