Drugs Seized At RIDE Checkpoint

Two London area residents are facing drug trafficking charges after a RIDE check on Hwy. 402.

Around 3:30pm Sunday, OPP say a 2018 Ford F150 went through a checkpoint near Nauvoo Rd. Police say while officers spoke with the driver and passengers, they detected the recent use of marijuana.

During a search of the vehicle, officers seized over 30 g of marijuana and over 15 g of cocaine.

Montel Jordan Nethersole, 25-years-old, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and marijuana, possession of a prohibited weapon and an open container of liquor.

Deseree Chanelle Collins, also 25-years-old, is also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The pair are scheduled to appear in Sarnia court August 8.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
