Warwick Township Will Have A New Mayor In The Fall

A familiar name won't be on the municipal election ballot in Warwick Township in October.

Mayor Todd Case has told council that after 18 years as mayor, and four as Lambton County warden, he has decided not to seek re-election.

"My youngest son who is almost 23 was 5 years old when I first became mayor and it was only three year's later I became warden of the county," says Case. "My wife has done an incredible job of being the person who made sure the boys got to where they needed to be. And after 18 years of service, it's time for me to spend some time with my sons and my daughter-in-laws and especially my grandkids."

Two Warwick Township councillors have already indicated they're running for the mayor's job; John Couwenberg and Jackie Rombouts.

The deadline for candidates to register is July 27.

Election day is October 22.
