A $3.1-million expansion is underway at John Knox Christian School in Wyoming.
Principal Ymko Boersma says it's a two-part project.
"The main part is a building expansion. We're adding an auditorium, gymnasium and two classrooms," he says. "The second part is a renovation of part of the existing building, which is the existing gymnasium. It will be turned into a series of small rooms that we call project rooms. It will also be turned into a resource area, and a student learning centre."
Boersma says their goal was to raise $3.1-million from the community and local businesses. To date, they've raised $2.4-million towards the project.
He says they have a completion date set for fall 2019. The first phase of the expansion began when the recent school year came to an end.
The current 40-year-old building on Confederation Line is the third site for John Knox in their 60-year history.
