Blue Box Collection Disrupted Monday

Residents on the Monday blue box run today in Sarnia, may have to wait until Tuesday to have their recyclables picked up.

Emterra employees briefly walked off the job Monday morning in a labour-related dispute.

The city's Manager of Operation Services Bryan Prouse says trucks are back on the road for the afternoon.

"We were advised of a small labour disruption from Emterra workers which impacted their scheduled collection in the Bright's Grove area," says Prouse.

The issues have been addressed, they're back on the job and they're expected to be all caught up by the end of tomorrow. There may be a slight delay in today's service, but it will be collected at the latest, first thing tomorrow morning."

Emterra is responsible for the collection of both recyclables and compost in the city.
