Vandals Target Splash Pad Before Opening

A grand opening is planned Saturday at 11am for a new splash pad in Thedford.

Lambton Shores Mayor Bill Weber says they had a bit of a setback this week when someone decided to toss around the newly laid sod at the site.

"It was discouraging, but more of a nuisance I believe, than any real damage done," says Weber. "Things are back in place now. It's all ready to go. We're really looking forward to the opening Saturday morning."

Mayor Weber says the splash pad is located by the fire hall.

The splash pad initiative was started over a year ago by a group of children in Thedford.
