High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

You can expect partly cloudy in the morning, with rain in the afternoon

The investigation of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in Sarnia last month has led to charges.
Sarnia police say Donald Blythe, 76, of Sarnia was struck and killed by a vehicle on Murphy Rd. south of Bradford Dr. around 9:30pm July 7.
The collision was investigated by both the Traffic Branch and Criminal Investigation Branch.
Police say Gregory Ballard, 46, of Sarnia was arrested Wednesday and charged with dangerous driving causing death and careless driving.
He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 11.
