Sarnia Youth Faces Theft, Drug Charges

A 15-year-old Sarnia youth is facing charges after allegedly being caught stealing from a vehicle on Cherry Dr. early Sunday morning.

Sarnia police were called to the area around 12:20am, after a resident noticed someone with a flashlight going through their car.

When officers arrived, the suspect had allegedly moved on to another vehicle.

He was arrested without incident for theft under $5,000.

A subsequent search of the suspect allegedly turned up over 200 g of marijuana with a street value of just over $2,000.

He's also facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The minor cannot be identified due to his age under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
