Sarnia Saints Win N.R.U. Cup

The Sarnia Saints men's senior rugby team is the Niagara Rugby Union Cup champions following an impressive 58-0 victory over the Guelph Redcoats at Norm Perry Park Saturday.

During the team's 9-1 regular season the only loss was to Guelph.

Team executive member Jim Lapier says it was a phenomenal game.

"Just three stages off the kickoff Sarnia put it in for the first score of the game," says Lapier. "It was just consistent after that with hard running by the forwards and good support by the backs."

The Saints now move up a division to contend for the Intermediate Cup against the Toronto Trojans. The first game of the home-and-home series is Saturday September 8 at Norm Perry Park.
