OPP Warn Of Village Thieves

Lambton OPP are warning the public that hotel parking lots and businesses are being targeted by thieves in Point Edward.

Over the past ten days, officers have responded to six calls involving stolen property.

Unattended bicycles and electronic devices, like laptops, IPads and tablets -- that were plainly visible within locked vehicles -- have been stolen.

On two occasions, thieves stole batteries from vehicles and cut catalytic converters from commercial delivery trucks.

Police are reminding residents that although your vehicle may be locked, thieves have no issue breaking glass when they see your valuables in plain view.

Officers are asking residents to report all suspicious activity or suspicious people immediately.
