Suspect Arrested After Returning To Scene

Sarnia police arrested a 39-year-old man who they say returned to the scene of a crime just three hours later.

Police were called to a business in the 5000-block of Blackwell Side Rd. around 2:15am Tuesday morning after a man smashed the front door.

They say a security guard saw the suspect leaving the building, and tried to block his vehicle as responding officers were held up by a slow-moving train.

The guard was forced to move out of the way, for fear of getting hit.

Officers tried to pull over the car but the pursuit was called off due to safety concerns.

Around 5:15am, the same man came back to the building and was confronted by police and arrested.

The man is charged with two counts each of break and enter and breach of recognizance, flight from police, theft of a motor vehicle, and breach of probation. His name has not been released.
