New college buildings nearing completion

We will soon get a first-hand look at the $47 million campus renewal project at Lambton College.

Communications Manager Cindy Buchanan said the grand opening of the Centre of Excellence in Energy and Bio-Industrial Technologies is just a couple of weeks away.

"This is our upgrade of a 34,000 square feet facility which also includes an addition of 7,000 square feet of training space," said Buchanan. "Some of the lab features include a new wastewater pilot lab, a new robotics lab, a steam boiler lab and these are all going to be featured on the official opening on September 20th."

The grand opening for the Athletics and Fitness Complex is slated for October 18. Buchanan said the complex features a double gymnasium, new locker rooms and studio space for a fitness class and a fitness centre.

Construction continues on the Nova Chemicals Health and Research Centre, expected to be completed by April 2019.
