Local 211 service needs volunteers

Sarnia's local 211 service is in need of volunteer help to maintain its over 800 member database.

Information Sarnia is in charge of running the information and referral service.

The registered Ontario charity has been operating for over 50 years.

Chairman Norm Lamoureux says people can dial 211 for services like individual and family life, criminal justice, substance use disorder, education, healthcare, and income support.

He says the position would amount to about 12 hours per year.

"I need people to help update the information by phoning people and making sure their information is correct such as name, phone number, and the programs they offer."

Lamoureux says volunteers would also help spread the word about 211 at various local events, and attend bi-monthly board meetings.

Those interested can call 519-542-1949 or visit www.informationsarnialambton.org.
