Suspects charged after stolen electronics recovered

Two Sarnia men face charges after televisions and other electronics were seized from a taxi Saturday morning.

Police responded to the area of Elrick Cresent at about 6:50 a.m. to investigate a complaint about suspicious activity.

They later located a cab the suspects had been seen leaving in.

Later in the day, officers investigated a report of a break and enter to a residence on Mills Street, and determined the items stolen there, were the ones recovered earlier.

With further help from the community, a search warrant was executed on Maria Street east of College Avenue North.

Ronald Scott Palmer, 51, and James Stewart Viggers, 54, face charges including break and enter, theft over $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The two were being held for bail hearings.

City police are thanking the concerned citizens who helped with the investigation.
