Sting end OHL preseason with loss

The Sarnia Sting ended the OHL preseason schedule with a 5-2 home-ice loss against the Windsor Spitfires.

Sean Josling and Jamieson Rees had a goal and an assist each for the Sting with Jacob Perreault and Marko Jakovljevic also adding assists.

Will Cuylle and Cole Purboo scored two goals each for the Spitfires with Daniel D'Amico adding a single.

Winning goalie Kari Piiroinen stopped 31 of 33 shots while Aiden Hughes turned aside 29 shots.

With the loss the Sting finish the exhibition schedule with a 1-3-0-0 record.

The Sting open the regular season Friday in Sault Ste. Marie on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
