The weather agency said thunderstorms with potentially damaging wind gusts were expected to form Tuesday evening, along with heavy rain.
All watches and warnings were ended just before midnight.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
