Suspects charged for online cocaine trafficking

A Sarnia man and woman face drug trafficking charges after an attempt to allegedly sell cocaine online.

Sarnia Police Constable Nelson Amaral said an officer with the Vice Unit responded to an online ad Thursday, where the seller was using street terms, to try to be inconspicuous.

He said a meeting was set up at around 3:30 p.m. at a Point Edward hotel parking lot.

"After the transaction was completed, a takedown of the vehicle was conducted by vice and uniform officers," said Amaral. "A male driver and a female passenger were arrested at the time. A five-year-old child was also in the vehicle and subsequently placed in the care of the Children's Aid Society."

Constable Amaral said at around 11 p.m. a search warrant was executed at a Somerset Crescent home where about 26 grams of crack cocaine, and 45 grams of powder cocaine with a combined street value of $7,500, were seized.

Nardon Aldred-Lee Saddler, 26, and Shante Lynne Stevenson, 25, are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
