Rees a 'player to watch' for 2019 NHL draft

Sarnia Sting forward Jamieson Rees is one of 44 OHL players included on NHL Central Scouting's October "Players to Watch" list for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

The 17-year-old sophomore forward is listed as a "B" level prospect.

Over the summer, Rees helped Canada win a gold medal at the Hlinka Gretzky tournament in Edmonton.

He finished the tournament with a goal and three assists.

As a rookie, Rees finished the 2017-2018 OHL season with five goals and 15 assists in 46 games.

The 2019 NHL draft is set to take place June 21 and 22 in Vancouver, BC.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
