Transport truck destroys Forest welcome sign

Forest's brand new welcome sign was severely damaged after being hit by a transport truck early Sunday morning.

Lambton OPP said the vehicle was travelling southbound on Highway 21 at around 6:30 a.m. when it crossed over to the northbound lanes and crashed into the ditch near Rawlings Road.

The truck barrelled through the landscaped sign, leaving it in pieces.

The 43-year-old driver from Wallaceburg is charged with careless driving and will attend traffic court on December 13.
