Witness helps police nab break and enter suspects

A man and woman from Petrolia are charged in connection with a break and enter to a home being renovated in the 1100 block of Guthrie Drive East.

On Monday around 1:30 p.m., Sarnia police said a teenage witness saw two people load a pick-up truck with a table saw and leave the area.

The witness was able to gather a description of the suspects along with the license plate of the truck.

Shortly after, Sarnia police were called to a disturbance on Phillip Street East where they found a vehicle matching the description with a table saw in the back.

Two people were arrested.

Katelyn Maurer, 22, has been charged with break and enter, possession of break and enter instruments, mischief over $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Joseph Boose, 20, faces the same charges along with four counts of breaching his probation.

Sarnia police are thanking the witness for help in solving this case.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
