Petrolia welcomes new doctor

The Central Lambton Family Health Team has landed another doctor.

Dr. Samantha Cooper will join the team as a Primary Care Physician at the Petrolia site in November.

Dr. Cooper is familiar with rural medicine, as she grew up in a small town near North Bay where her father practiced family medicine for many years.

She, her husband and new baby have lived in Alvinston for the past five years.

" I am so happy to be working back home in Ontario where I can continue to practice family medicine," said Dr. Cooper. "I am looking forward to sharing my special interests and experiences in women's health, pediatrics, diabetic care and preventative medicine and wellness with an amazing team of physicians at the Family Health Team."

Dr. Cooper received her medical degree from St. George's University in Grenada. She completed her residency at Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. In addition, her training as a medical student included rotations throughout the Midwestern United States.
