Sting lose in OT in London

The Sarnia Sting lost 7-6 in overtime against the Knights in London.

Sarnia led 2-0 early in the opening period on goals by Calvin Martin and Jacob Perreault.

Then London scored five unanswered goals including two from the Knights' leading scorer Connor McMichael.

Sarnia native Franco Sproviero and Anthony Salinitri scored for the Sting to make the score 5-4 after two periods.

In the third Josh Nelson scored for the Knights before Mitch Eliot and Hugo Leufvenius scored for Sarnia to send the game to overtime where Liam Foudy scored at the three minute mark for the victory.

Sproviero said "We were up 2-0 there and unfortunately they came back and we can't let that happen but we were down 5-2 and we came all the way back so that showed some character."

Aiden Hughes stopped 33 of 40 shots in the Sarnia net while London's Jordan Kooy turned aside 31 shots.

The Sting host Guelph Saturday night at 7:10 p.m. The pregame show starts at 6:40 p.m. on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
