Two major road closures begin Tuesday in Sarnia

The Murphy Road - Leckie Drive intersection just south of the former St. Clair High School will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday, October 16 until Friday, October 19.

Only local traffic will be allowed to travel north from Confederation Street and south from Wellington Street to adjacent subdivisions but will be unable to proceed through the intersection.

Eastbound Highway 40 at the CN tracks from east of Scott Road will be closed from 7 a.m. Tuesday until 4 p.m. Wednesday. The westbound lanes will be closed from 7 a.m. Thursday to 4 p.m. Friday. No through traffic will be allowed.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
