Brubaker trial to resume in December

The trial of former gymnastics coach Dave Brubaker has adjourned until December.

The calling of witnesses began Tuesday after Brubaker pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage gymnast.

Court was told at the close of proceedings Wednesday, that the trial will resume in Sarnia court December 13 and 14.

Brubaker, 55, was charged last December with sexual assault and sexual touching, covering the period from 2000 to 2007, and relating to a girl who was under 16 during part of that time.

Brubaker is the former director of the Bluewater Gymnastics Club, the former women's national team director for Gymnastics Canada, and was the country's head gymnastics coach at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
