Process Unit fire at Imperial

The sirens sounded this morning at Imperial's Sarnia manufacturing site. Spokesperson Kristina Zimmer, in a message on the Community Awareness and Emergency Response Line, said it happened around 7:30 a.m. "There was a small fire in an area of a processing unit," said Zimmer. "Site personnel repsonded quickly and they extinguished the fire within a few minutes." No injuries are reported and Zimmer said the all clear was issued at 8:20 a.m.

An investigation into the incident is underway and precautionary perimeter air monitoring was initiated.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
