Suspect arrested in attempted vehicle theft

A 29-year-old Sarnia man is facing charges in connection with an attempted robbery Saturday afternoon.

Sarnia Police Constable John Sottosanti said the incident happened around 1:30 p.m.

"Members of the Sarnia Police Service were dispatched to the 700 block of Confederation Street regarding a robbery that had taken place," said Sottosanti. "According to information received from the victim, a male walked into the business and demanded that the victim give him a ride to Corunna. The suspect was very demanding and the victim felt threatened so he reluctantly agreed to drive him."

Constable Sottosanti said as the two left the business the suspect demanded the keys be handed over and the male victim ride in the passenger seat.

The victim handed over the keys but ran away. The suspect gave chase but fled when the victim came upon someone for help.

William Kristopher Littlejohn, 29, of Sarnia was arrested on Devine Street a short time later, and was in custody charged with robbery.
