Parallel parking here to stay

Parallel parking downtown is here to stay.

Sarnia council did not direct the engineering department to start a review and design to reconfigure on street parking to angled parking downtown.

The switch to angled parking could have required a move to one-way traffic on Christina and Front Streets.

Staff had recommended the change as a way to address parking concerns identified in a public consultation session earlier this year.

Lack of parking, the cost and location of parking were identified as top issues.
