Creative county grant applications being accepted

The County of Lambton is once again accepting applications for funding under its Creative County Grant Program.

Each year since 2013, they've given away $75,000 toward local arts, performance, heritage, and cultural projects.

Corporate Cultural Officer Andrew Meyer said it's a great way to keep our area diverse.

"We're looking for projects that nurture creativity and imagination in the arts," said Meyer. "We want projects that promote innovation and promote ways to foster creativity by encouraging partnerships within the arts and cultural sector as well. Projects that promote culture are key components of economic growth and the quality of life here in Lambton County."

Meyer said the money is typically included in the county's annual budget, but was taken from unspent funds this year.

Those interested in applying can go to www.lambtononline.ca until November 12.
