The mayor of Lambton Shores is making a bid for his second term as warden of Lambton County.
Bill Weber will be putting his name forward during the warden's election when county council meets for its inaugural session on December 12.
Weber said after Wednesday's meeting that it's been really rewarding being the county's ambassador for the past two years.
"I have enjoyed it, it's gone very fast," said Weber. "Looking forward I think there's going to be a number of changes, certainly with some new eyes around the council chamber, new thoughts around the council chamber, as well the province is making changes and possible cuts that we want to be able to maintain services."
Weber believes his experience in the position will help the newly elected group and said some incumbents encouraged him to seek another term.
"I would like to stay on for two more years as Warden, as a transition with the new council and some of the things that are happening at the province," he said. "I've had comments from councillors hoping that I would put my name forth, so I feel there is support."
Weber was elected to serve on the newly amalgamated Lambton Shores council in 2000, and was a councillor until 2010 when he was elected mayor -- a position he's held since.
As of Wednesday, Weber was the only candidate to have announced a desire for the role.
While no one has publicly stepped forward with plans to run for the deputy warden position, Weber said a few councillors have expressed interest.
