Growing concern as United Way campaign hits 10th week

There's growing concern, but not panic as the Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign enters its tenth week.

So far $1.17 million of the $2 million goal has been raised.

Executive Director Dave Brown said they're still behind last year's pace.

"We're continuing to monitor the situation closely," said Brown. "We've got a lot of large campaigns yet to report, so we're far from panicking but we are monitoring very closely and we're growing more and concerned as we get closer to the Christmas period."

The next big fundraiser is Pasta Fest this Thursday at the Dante Club. Tickets are $15.

The United Way helps fund 19 local agencies providing 35 community programs and services.
