Impaired charge laid in crash that injures elderly driver

A Sarnia man faces an impaired driving charge in a crash Monday afternoon that injured an 84-year-old driver.

Lambton OPP say they responded to Modeland Road and Confederation Line at about 3:30 p.m. to investigate a collision between a pick-up truck and a car.

Police say the elderly driver of the car, who suffered a significant injury, appears to have been at fault, but it's alleged the driver of the pick-up had been drinking.

Trevor A. Goodall, 48, is charged with having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliltres of blood causing a collision with bodily harm.

Police say the truck was travelling east on Confederation Line while the passenger car was making a left hand turn from westbound Confederation Line onto Modeland Road, when the crash occurred.
