Ontario woman involved in fatal Michigan crash

One person is dead and two others have been injured following a crash on slippery roads in Michigan that involved an Ontario woman.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's office said on Tuesday morning, a truck hauling a travel trailer lost control on westbound I-69 near Stapleton Road, slid into the ditch and rolled over.

The driver, 70-year-old Lawrence McDaid of Port Huron, and a passenger got out safely with help from a friend who was following them and pulled over.

While waiting for a tow truck, police said a car driven by a Komoka woman lost control and slid into the same ditch, hitting the three people standing there.

Police said McDaid was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
