Disguise doesn't fool police during pot bust

Sarnia police were quick to identify a woman in disguise during a traffic stop Wednesday, where $3,000 in marijuana was seized.

Officers stopped an uninsured vehicle on Christina Street, between Davis and Cromwell streets, around 1:30 p.m.

The officer realized two of the three occupants were under court conditions not to be in contact with each other, and the female accused was allegedly wearing a wig to hide her identity.

A search of the vehicle located 300 grams of marijuana in a black backpack.

All three occupants, a 24-year-old woman and two 25-year-old men, were arrested.

City police again remind the public that even though marijuana is legalized for recreational use, there are still laws that govern the possession and selling of cannabis.

You are not allowed to possess more than 30 grams on your person and, at this time, marijuana can only be purchased online through the provincial government dispensary.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
