Secret Santa Shoppe opens for business

It's the perfect place to take the kids or grandchildren Christmas shopping.

The Secret Santa Shoppe opens for business on Friday, November 16 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Pathways Health Centre for Children spokesperson Tracy Drysdale said volunteers take the youngsters shopping while Mom and Dad relax in The Santa Cafe.

"The children are actually learning a valuable lesson," said Drysdale. "They're coming in a store that has toys and candies and they're not there to buy for themselves. They're there for the people on their list. They come in with their list and volunteers take them through the store to pick out gifts. One item is unwrapped and all the rest of the gifts are wrapped and the best thing is that none of them cost over $10."

Kids can shop with the Sarnia Sting Wednesday, November 21 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The Shoppe will be open again next weekend.

(Friday, November 23 from 9:30 a.m. 7 p.m., Saturday, November 24 from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, November 25 from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m)

All proceeds will go towards running Pathways programs.
