Filtering out cannabis odours in Enniskillen

Help is on the way for those living near the High Park Farms cannabis greenhouses on Lasalle Line in Enniskillen Township.

After getting complaints about an overpowering skunk-like smell, Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu said the recreational and medical marijuana producer is taking action.

"There have been complaints and I raised them to the health minister," said Gladu. "There were originally complaints about the lights and High Park took remediation to address that. Now they are going to be installing carbon air filters, as I understand, by month's end. That should address the odour issue."

Gladu adds that Health Canada stipulates that marijuana producers must have air filtration systems in place, but says the department is abdicating its responsibility and not following through to ensure the rules are adhered to.
