Vidal Street infrastructure changes planned

Sarnia council has entered into a crossing agreement with Imperial Oil for two overhead pipe racks and pipelines across Vidal Street South.

The company currently has a number of pipes beneath the roadway and wants to upgrade the infrastructure and make it more accessible for inspection and maintenance.

Council also approved the permanent closure and decommissioning of the Vidal Street walkway Monday.

A new permanent structure will be constructed adjacent to the site for utilities only.

Pedestrians are asked to cross over the CNR main line at Christina Street South and St. Andrew Street or by using the Donohue Bridge.
