A blast of frigid Arctic air, more typical of midwinter, took hold across southern Ontario Thursday. Sarnia is not included on a list of numerous communities that saw record low temperatures Thursday morning. Environment Canada says in eastern Ontario, three records for November 22 set before 1900, were broken. Brockville's low was -18.8 C, -2 F, Kingston's temperature dropped to -16.7 C, and Ottawa recorded a low -17.2 C. It will remain unseasonably cold Thursday but start warming up Friday with a high of 5 C, 41 F, in Sarnia. Slightly higher than normal temperatures near 7 C, 45 F, are forecast for the weekend.
