United Way campaign makes a 'big jump'

The annual Sarnia-Lambton United Way fundraiser has raised 76 per cent of the $2 million goal.

Executive Director Dave Brown said a couple of large campaigns helped push them forward from just 66.5 per cent from the previous week.

"We have had a big jump, largely due to the Imperial corporate donation which came first thing this morning so we're now at $1.518 million.," said Brown.

The United Way's next big fundraiser is the second annual Stairclimb on Tuesday.

Registration forms are available through the United Way office or online at the United Way's website.

The organization helps fund 19 local agencies providing 35 programs and services to the community.
