Borderfest organizer new Tourism Sarnia-Lambton boss

A lifelong Sarnia resident and expert in marketing and promotion is the new executive director of Tourism Sarnia-Lambton (TSL).

Chair of the Board of Directors Mary Jean O'Donnell said Mark Perrin is filling the new position created following the recent retirement of general manager Joy Sim-Robbins.

"Mark has a long background in sports event management," said O'Donnell. "He's been instrumental in drawing crowds of 30,000 people to Walton Raceway, and is one of the organizers of the Bluewater Borderfest music festival in Sarnia. One of his first challenges will be to work with the board to complete our new strategic plan and prepare for the 2019 tourism season."

Perrin said he's looking forward to his new responsibilities.

"I am looking forward to joining the staff team, working with the board of directors and the County of Lambton to raise the profile of TSL, and preparing for a busy 2019 including the upcoming Tall Ships Festival."

Tourism Sarnia-Lambton was formed in 2001 as the destination marketing organization for Lambton County, dedicated to promoting and supporting local tourism.
