Imperial back to normal operations

Imperial's Sarnia site has returned to normal operations following several days of elevated flaring.

Last Monday equipment at the refinery was isolated while a repair plan was developed and subsequently implemented.

The plant's Public and Government Affairs Manager Kristina Zimmer said in a news release that the scope of the work included the removal of a section of piping, followed by replacement and testing.

She said personnel executed the complex work safely and efficiently, and the equipment was put back into service Saturday.

Zimmer said Imperial would like to thank their neighbours and the community for their patience as this repair was completed.
