UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch ends for Sarnia-Lambton

Environment Canada has ended a severe thunderstorm watch for Sarnia-Lambton, after heavy rain and high winds were forecast Sunday.

The weather agency had said showers and isolated thunderstorms were expected to develop along a cold front and move across Southwestern Ontario into Sunday evening. The main threat was strong wind gusts to 90 kilometres per hour, which can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.

The watch was cancelled around 7 p.m. Sunday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
