Alcohol, cannabis charges laid after traffic stop

A 34-year-old Aamjiwnaang First Nation man faces alcohol and cannabis-related charges following a traffic stop Friday night.

Lambton OPP pulled over a speeding pick-up truck in Warwick Township at around 8 p.m. on December 8.

The driver was charged with having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, having open liquor in a motor vehicle, and having cannabis readily available in a motor vehicle.

He has a January 7 court date in Sarnia.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
