Petrolia ratifies new contract with CUPE

The Town of Petrolia has ratified a new contract agreement with employees represented by Local 2393 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

The three-year deal covers seven full-time staff, and between three and 15 part-time workers and students.

There are some minor housekeeping changes and a total wage increase of 5.25% over the three years to December 31, 2021.

Mayor Brad Loosley said in a news release posted to the town's website that he's pleased the negotiations concluded after three meetings.

“Council is pleased that our CUPE employees have worked with our management team to develop this new agreement and would like to extend appreciation to the staff for their outstanding work to contribute to the success of Petrolia," said Loosley. "We look forward to continuing these positive working relationships.”
