Significant pot seizure at Blue Water Bridge

Commercial vehicle inspections over the weekend led to a significant seizure of marijuana at the Blue Water Bridge.

The seizures began on Thursday, December 6 when U.S Customs and Border Protection officers referred bulk mail shipments labelled as books, for secondary inspection.

A border protection canine alerted officers to the presence of drugs and multiple searches were conducted resulting in the discovery of over 80 pounds of marijuana.

The drivers, who were all Canadian citizens, were released along with their vehicles.

The seized marijuana will be destroyed at a later date.
