Community commended for cramming a cruiser

A Sarnia police cruiser looked more like Santa's sleigh over the weekend, as the police service held their sixth annual Cram A Cruiser event.

Sarnia officers parked one of their SUVs in the middle of Lambton Mall and collected 332 gifts for more than 300 area families.

The initiative, put on by the local police service in partnership with the Inn of the Good Shepherd, helps ensure that every child in Sarnia-Lambton has a gift to open on Christmas morning.

Cst. Nelson Amaral said the event wouldn't be possible without the generosity of local residents, including area children who decided to spend their own money for other kids in need.
