Double motor vehicle fatality in Central Huron

Two people were killed in a single motor vehicle crash west of Clinton in Central Huron late yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Huron County OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services and Central Huron Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the crash scene located on Telephone Road west of Fish & Game Line.

Upon arrival emergency personnel located a crossover utility vehicle that had left the roadway, overturned and became submerged in water.

72-year-old George Rich and 69-year-old Mary Wood, both of Central Huron, were pronounced dead in hospital.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
